Galicia

On the agenda for today was an excursion around Galicia following the rias bajas (lower rivers). This area is highly famous for it’s wine and seafood. Most of the rivers in the area lead into the Atlantic Ocean. We followed the Pontevedra from the city to the mouth, stopping in a few small towns along the way, like Sanxenxo and O Grove, for you map followers. We had lunch in O Grove, pepinos (peppers) from Padrón, salad, baked ham, pudding, and of course wine. I was disappointed we didn’t have fish. The weather was kind of rainy to start but around noon, the sun came out and it was a beautiful day, around 75 with a breeze off the Atlantic. It made me want to put my feet in the sand and just soak it all up for a while. Tomorrow I leave for my apartment in Madrid. I can’t wait to leave the hotels behind. I also just discovered I overexposed all of my ocean shots. 😦 That’s ok they weren’t that pretty.  You will just have to wait until I go to Marbella for water pictures
