June 17-18, 2012 – Depart for Madrid Spain from O’Hare, take train to Granada
June 19 to June 22 – Explore Granada
June 20 – Go to the University of Granada to speak with professors
June 21 – tour city looking at/photographing architecture and interacting with local people
June 22 – depart for Córdoba, Spain
June 23 to June 24 – explore the city looking at architecture and interacting with local people
June 24 – attend Mass in Spanish
June 25 – take train to Bilbao, Spain
June 25 to June 27 – Explore the Basque country – speaking with locals where possible
June 26 – travel to Guernica to see sight of WWII era bombing
June 28 – take train to Santiago de Compostela
June 28 to June 30 – Explore Santiago, go to the Cathedral to St. James
July 1 to July 21 –Live in Madrid. During this time I will live in an apartment and grocery shop having a more authentic experience living in Spain. I will also tour the city for architecture comparison and speak with the people about their customs and traditions, visit museums, go to the zoo.
July 22 – depart for Ireland by plane, pick up car
July 22 to July 29 – Explore Ireland by car speaking with locals about their customs and traditions to compare with Galicia returning to Dublin to stay
July 29 – depart for Glasgow, Scotland by ferry with car
July 30 to August 5 – Explore Scotland by car speaking with locals about their customs and traditions to compare to Ireland and Galicia returning to Glasgow to stay
August 6 – return to United States

The ride was about 4 hours. It’s not high speed.
